Chief Executive Officer Job: Suntra Investment Bank

Our client, Suntra Investment Bank is a well established and innovative Investment Banking Services provider operating in Kenya since 1990. It has a large shareholding that ensures rigorous application of good corporate governance throughout its entire structure. Its current range of products include stock broking, unit trusts, fixed income securities, investment advisory services and funds management.

The Bank has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years under the executive leadership of its founding and soon retiring Chief Executive Officer and the Non-Executive Board of Directors. It is seeking to recruit a dynamic and exceptional individual to take over the leadership of its professional management team and build on this growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising the Board on all matters relating to development and implementation of the Bank's strategic plans;
• Developing and managing the professional team of investment bankers and financial analysts;
• Overseeing the development and innovation of the Bank's suite of products;
• Ensuring prudent management of the Bank's resources;
• Enhancing human resource capacity, management information systems, management structures, facilities, systems and policies;
• Enhancing working relationships with the regulatory authorities, investors and other key stakeholders; and
• Enforcing a culture of strict regulatory compliance.

Ideal qualifications, knowledge and experience:

• A Bachelors degree in economics, commerce or business studies. A Masters degree in a business related field will be an added advantage;
• A postgraduate qualification in a related field;
• A professional qualification in Investment and Securities Analysis or Accounting will be a distinct advantage;
• At least 10 years senior management experience in investment banking or financial management in a large organization;
• A sound understanding of the money and capital markets;
• Ability to interpret macro and micro economic trends as well as the impact on wealth creation;
• Ability to initiate and manage complex financial transactions; and
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
