Based at Bulyanhulu Mine Site, the Safety Training Officers will be responsible for Safety Training for both, underground and Surface areas.

Reporting Line: Safety Coordinator

Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine; 1000km inland from Oar es Salaam; Kahama District, Shinyanga Region

Work Schedule: Rotational Status, (8 weeks on 4 weeks off)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

• Conduct Workplace inspections and audits as required.

• Assist in investigations.

• Assist in development and revision of standards, procedures or checklists.

• Record daily, weekly and monthly statistics.

• Monitor and follow up on incident investigation recommendations to ensure actions are complete and implemented.

• Provide on the- job coaching of employees on FLRA and JSAs

• Assist with facilitation of formal risk assessments.

• Provides support and guidance to safety Representatives

• Ensure complian ith relevant Tanzania OHS regulations and corporate codes of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED:

• Qualified to certificate IV Safety Management.

• A working experience of Microsoft f'ffice programs, including Word, Excel and Power Point; as well as computer systems and databases.

• Detail exposure to fire and rescue training and emergency management

• Knowledge of training courses such as risk management and incident investigations.

• Previous experience/exposure (shift boss level) to mining activities in an operational capacity will be well regarded.

• Detail knowledge of the application of safety processes and standards in underground and surface mining operations.

• Relevant experience in fire and rescue operations.

• Exposure to the challenges of operating in remote sites and in particular developing countries.

• Demonstrated experience in emergency response, fire and rescue.

• Previous site experience in remote countries

• Well developed verbal and written communication skills.

• Relevant experience in presenting training courses such as incident investigations and risk management.

• Experienced in guidance and support of employees at all levels of the organization to identify potential safety issues and emergency response issues and the development of recommendations and implementation thereof.

The Role

The Senior Technical Adviser for Civil Society Development (CSD) and Community Driven Reconstruction (CDR) is responsible for providing vision and leadership on IRC’s CSD/CDR work, including providing direct technical assistance to IRC field programs, providing guidance in the development of policies, strategies, and tools, contributing to research, evaluation and learning, and expanding the funding base for governance programs.

Essential Job Functions:

i. Policy, Tools and Technical Support

• Lead on the development of the IRC strategy, policies and technical guidelines in CSD and CDR.
• Provide technical assistance to IRC’s Country Programs which manage civil society development and community driven reconstruction programs in the field. Technical assistance includes country level strategic support with program design, new business development, advocacy policies, monitoring and evaluation, and field staff recruitment and development.
• Effectively represent IRC both externally and internally on CSD and CDR
• Lead technical staff on the improvement of the monitoring and evaluation of IRC CSD/CDR programs, including the documentation of program effectiveness and impact.

ii. Coordination

• Contribute to the coordination of CSD/CDR activities with other IRC sectoral teams (including education, youth and livelihoods, protection, gender based violence, emergency response, health, and economic recovery) and promote cross-sectoral collaboration and integrated programming.
• Participate in relevant inter-agency networks and working and advocacy groups, and collaborate with UN, academic institutions and others in elaborating policies on CSD and CDR programs.
• Liaise extensively with donors in the field and at HQ, to further IRC’s fundraising and advocacy efforts on areas of mutual concern and interest.
• Work with the Director of the G&R unit and the Development Department to secure funding from private donors and foundations.

The Food security coordinator is the responsible for the proper implementation and quality of the food security component in all Kenya and Somalia programs. He is a technical focal point and an advisor for food security for the Kenya / Somalia team.

Tasks of this position

Responsible for the quality of food security activities

• Guaranty that food security activities are implemented according to the standardized methodology, with a participatory approach

Capitalization / Technical Advisor

Representation

Vacation:
