Funded by the European Union, the IRC is initiating a cross border peace building program in the Turkana and Karamojo regions of Kenya and Uganda.
The Peace Building and Advocacy Manager will work closely with the Regional Program Coordinator to manage the program in Kenya.
The PBAM will also be responsible for management of the project’s partnerships.
We are in need of a person with at least 4 years of experience in the areas of advocacy, capacity building, and networking; with a focus on protection, human rights and peace building.
The PBAM must also have proven skills in project management.

Medical Doctor

Clinical Officer

Nurse

The hospital Nurse will be the overall in charge of the specific ward assigned to and would therefore work as both supervisor and team leader of the refugee staff, prepare for and assist the doctors during the rounds and whenever required, ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment and procedures are properly carried out and documented on patient’s charts, refer to the doctor in charge or to the doctor on call relevant information such as patient’s status and laboratory results, which would assist in proper clinical management, perform bedside nursing, arrange and submit weekly ward work schedule and plan daily duties and responsibilities for each refugee staff, convene ward meeting and attend monthly hospital meetings, escort patient to other referral hospital when necessary and do hospital coverage and on-call as required.

Nutrition Officer

The Nutrition Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing and supervision of the outpatient therapeutic feeding (OTP) of severely malnourished under-fives while following the stipulated protocol.
Implement and monitor carefully and regularly the supplementary feeding (SFP)of the moderately malnourished under-fives, pregnant/lactating mothers, individuals with medical conditions (HIV/AIDS, TB, HPT and diabetes).
Participate in promoting appropriate infant and young child feeding practices through the Nutrition program field based staff (community health workers, nutrition assistants) and mother to mother support groups and supervise and monitor the hospital inpatients diet including the special diets for medical cases like diabetes, TB, HIV/AIDS, HPT among others.
