The County Council of Maragua wishes to fill the following vacant positions in its establishment:
1. Surveyor Assistant I
Salary Scale 10: £11,340 x £321-£12,945 x £354-£15,069 x £15,069x£399-£16,665 p.a
Minimum Academic and professional Qualifications.
i. Applicants should have a minimum of KCSE Mean grade C+ or ordinary level Div. II.
ii.
a) Higher National diploma in land Surveying and a Minimum of three years post training experience under a Registered Land Surveyor or a Government Department relevant in this field.
Or
b) TEP Diploma in land Surveying and a minimum of five years post training experience under a
registered surveyor or a GOK Department relevant in this field.
Or
c) Ordinary diploma in land Surveying and a minimum of seven years post training experience
under a Registered Surveyor or a GOK Department relevant in this field.
iii. Computer Proficiency and experience in Local Government shall be an added advantage
2. Procurement Officer II

Education:
- Applicants should have a C+ in their “O” levels or Division II.
- Diploma in procurement acquired from a reputable institution.
- Registration with Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
- Three years post training experience in a Government of Kenya Department.
- Computer Proficiency a must.
Duties:
- Maintain and update annually, standing lists of registered tenderers required by the procuring entity and liaise with the Authority in respect of the Authority’s register of supplies and procuring agents.
- Prepare, publish and distribute procurement and disposal opportunities including invitations to tender, pre-qualification documents and invitations for expressions of interest.
- Coordinate the receiving and opening of tender documents.
- Maintain and safeguard procurement and disposal documents and records in accordance with the regulations.
- Co-ordinate the evaluation of tenders, quotations and proposals.
3. Council Lawyer
The council requires a lawyer who will be appearing for the council in legal matters in and outside the court.
The lawyer must be a member of High court advocate, a member of Law Society of Kenya.
He must have practiced for at least five years in Kenya
4. Computer Programmer II
Salary scale 10 i.e. £11,340x£321-£12,945x£354-£15,067x£399-£16,665 p.a
Education:
The council requires a lawyer who will be appearing for the council in legal matters in and outside the court.
The lawyer must be a member of High court advocate, a member of Law Society of Kenya.

4. Computer Programmer II
Salary scale 10 i.e. £11,340x£321-£12,945x£354-£15,067x£399-£16,665 p.a
Education:
- Applicants should have a minimum of C+ in their KCSE and
- A diploma in information technology/Diploma in computer technology/KNEC Diploma in computer studies obtained from a recognized college.
Experience:
- Basic computer programming.
- Experience in providing assistance to end users concerning the use of computer hardware and software that may be used by the council.
- Broad knowledge of PC hardware, software and peripherals to networking.
- Ability to provide PC hardware/software training individually and in a group based setting.
- Diagnoses the cause of personal computer operations problems and takes or recommends appropriate action to take to solve those problems.
- Performs software installation and set up procedures.
- Performs basic network configuration procedures for the council.
- Ability to identify and resolve computer system operation problems.
- Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Good Knowledge of:
- Windows 2003 server and active directory
- Microsoft office products
- Hardware environment (PC, Server)
- MCSE certificate would be an asset.
