Objective: 

Assisting Executive Housekeeper in managing entire Housekeeping and Laundry departments to ensure set standards are met and maintained
Ensuring cleanliness in all rooms and public areas and due care is taken with furnishings
Ensuring controls of guest supplies, cleaning materials, linen etc adhered to
Assisting in controlling expenses to ensure Housekeeping department is kept within budget
Responsible for assisting in training, development and promotion of all staff in department
To maintain complete guest satisfaction

Key Responsibility’s:
    

General

To adhere to all fire and safety regulations and ensure staff aware and trained on these    
aspects
To maintain company standards for hygiene and physical appearance within the departments
To represent the hotel in a positive manner, even if not at work
Follow all regulations and procedures as laid down by the company
Ensure comfort of guests and special requests dealt with promptly

Ordering & Controlling

Supervising housekeeping operations in conjunction with Supervisors
Supervising laundry operations ensuring quality control, correct usage of equipment
Ensuring all equipment receives scheduled maintenance to the required standards
Ensuring maintenance and deep cleaning programs’ for e.g. laundry equipment, cleaning of carpets & curtains, pest control are carried out as per schedule

Assist with monthly stock take of all operating equipment and supplies

Maintain a First Aid supply for Housekeeping Department
To ensure lost and found procedure is adhered to

Staffing

Assume full responsibility for the Housekeeping Department in the absence of Executive Housekeeper
Assisting Executive Housekeeper in ensuring effective recruitment, induction and training program within the department
Monitor all the Housekeeping teams’ performance and train and provide feedback on a constant, on-on-one basis.
Controlling rosters, time-sheets and disciplinary information
Assist in collating and update Training Manuals for all positions within the departments
Ensure regular training, goals and incentive programs are carried out and all staff receive feedback on performance
Ensure staff hygiene and professional appearance is maintained

Communication

Liaise with maintenance to ensure all maintenance issues are reported and carried out in a timely manner.
Liaise with Duty Manager to ensure quality and performance and special duties for night staff
Ensure effective communication within the department and hotel
Liaise with all departments regarding guest information, special requests, VIP’s

  • Member of ICPAK, IIA, or certified as (CFA).
  • Computer knowledge and application.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience, 2 of which should have been in risk management.

Position Function
The Design Development Technician is responsible for complete, accurate and timely preparation of working drawings for all projects, and also assisting the Design Development Manager in ensuring that document standards are met with respect to all production information.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare accurate and complete working drawings for all projects on time.
  2. Ensure all drawings lists are accurate and complete for all projects.
  3. Assist Design Development Manager in compilation of the technical aspects of the documents standards manual.
  4. Assist Production Manager with follow up on timely completion of all agreed tasks.

NRC opened a country office in Nairobi in June, 2006 for Somalia and Kenya and has initiated activities in the area of Shelter and Education in Emergencies for refugees living in already existing refugee camps located in Dadaab in North-Eastern Kenya.

Position: WASH Officer
Reporting to:

Main Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Assess and analyze public health needs and recommend sustainable solutions
  • Oversee the design, construction and rehabilitation of latrines, drainage and other relevant Sanitation facilities
  • Develop and conduct hygiene promotion activities that increase community awareness
  • Undertake technical inspection of sanitary installations including latrines, pits, drainage systems and dome slab/lid constructions
  • Advice on quality control of all Sanitation activities as per SPHERE and related standards
  • Development of rapid response and contingency plans related to sanitation program
  • Assess and advise on capacity building needs within the team to ensure effective developments of the quality standards for the Sanitation activities

Qualifications:

Position: Construction Assistant

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Prepare tender documents for construction works (including technical drawings, specifications of works, Bill of Quantities and conditions of contracts)
  • Develop detailed rates for items of work based on the current market conditions
  • Assure correct measurement of completion of works, recommend for payments, and prepare interim and final payment certificates
  • Maintain and update contract files on each construction project
  • Review contract claims, analyze and recommend variation orders
  • Preparation of documents for final handover and closure of projects
  • Provide technical input in the general supervision, progress of construction activities and control of quality of materials and workmanship
Job requirements:
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Structural/ Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying

  • Design and implement group formation criteria
  • Link IGA groups to the local, regional and national market and institutions
  • Keep/manage records of revolving funds among cooperatives
  • Develop appropriate tools to be used for monitoring and reporting on groups’ progress
  • Liaise, coordinate and assist other NRC staff and core activities
Required Qualifications:
  • University Degree in economics, co-operative management or any other relevant social science discipline
  • At least 3 years experience working on income-generating activities preferably in refugee settings
  • Proficiency in computer applications is a MUST
  • Experience in conducting entrepreneurship training is desirable
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential;
