Description
Our client, a leading insurance company based in Bermuda, is seeking an individual who will work primarily on internal development projects in addition to creating and maintaining interfaces to a number of packaged solutions in use at the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analysing, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining in-house LANSA applications
• Managing and/or participating in business applications development and design projects
• Responding to internal client requests, queries and complaints, making appropriate recommendations
• Project management to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of solutions
Qualifications and Experience:
• At least five years’ progressive experience in Information Technology with a focus on systems analysis and database management
• At least five years’ experience in programming in LANSA Framework or a similar fourth generation development tool
• Training and experience in the application of project management methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of database manipulation tools, specifically SQL
• Experience working with standard project management and structured development methodologies is a key requirement
• LANSA programming experience, preferably Framework, is highly desirable for this role
• Previous exposure to developing applications within a multi-stream insurance environment would be a definite advantage
• Exposure to AS/400 and Microsoft Service 2003 operating systems, Crystal Reports, HTML, Java Script, Microsoft SharePoint and web concepts would be an asset
