NIMULE- MAGWI COUNTY
Merlin (UK), an International NGO specializing in the provision of health care worldwide, has the following vacancies in its Nimule Programme, Magwi County – Eastern Equatoria.
- Medical Officer (1)
The Medical Officer will work along side other medical staff of Nimule Hospital to provide clinical care and support to patients admitted to the hospital. S/he is expected to be capable of providing emergency surgical and obstetric care with minimal supervision. The Medical Officer will also provide technical support to other medical staff ensuring that they are able to effectively provide curative, preventive and promotive health care services within Merlin’s target areas.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Medical Doctor with surgical and obstetric experience in working in a rural environment.
- Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with national health personnel in Southern Sudan.
- Ability to assess evolving health needs quickly and calmly work under pressure as required
- Excellent communication skills, with good spoken and written English and experience in report writing.
- Previous experience within a humanitarian aid organisation preferably within the region of Southern Sudan.
- Excellent computer skills to allow reporting and representation.
- ART Supervisor
The Clinical Officer will be part of this goal by overseeing the provision of ART services to the population of Magwi County. S/he will assist the HIV management team in designing and implementing a strategy to address the ART needs of the population both at the health facilities and the community.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in clinical medicine or registered nurse
- Training and experience in management of HIV/AIDS and ART.
- Should be registered with the relevant professional bodies
- Should have good communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of any local language spoken in Southern
Sudan would be advantageous.
- Previous experience of working with an International Health NGO is desirable preferably in
South Sudan
- Ability to work in hardship situations with minimum amenities
- Clinical Officer
The Clinical Officer will be based in Nimule Hospital, Magwi County and will be supervised by the Medical Superintendent. He/She will have overall responsibility of overseeing the management and administration of the staff and activities in the OPD.

Minimum requirements
- Diploma in clinical medicine or training in any other specialised areas would be
advantageous.
- Should be registered with the relevant professional bodies
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of any local language spoken in Southern
Sudan would be advantageous.
- Previous experience of working with an International Health NGO is desirable
preferably in South Sudan
- Ability to work in hardship situations with minimum amenities
- Storekeeper
Under general supervision, maintain and manage all Merlin stock thru proper inventory, record, report and documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in record keeping, administrative and numeric skills
- Excellent communication skills including spoken & written English. Knowledge of Arabic
and / or local language desirable.
- Ability to keep teams up to date with relevant information and produce timely reports
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure whilst giving attention to details
- Initiative and flexibility and willingness to work extra hours or spend period of time in the
field
- Good computer skills
