Volunteer Opportunity for Early Career Researchers: African Students’ Research Initiative (ASRI)

The African Students’ Research Initiative (ASRI) is a not for profit association that aims to foster research excellence through the promotion of research related activities among postgraduate students in Africa.

It proposes an annual peer reviewed interdisciplinary online journal edited by postgraduate students from Africa. This open access journal aims at fostering communication between African students and promoting excellence in interdisciplinary research.

The African Students’ Journal (ASJ) seeks to allow early career researchers to publish their research in a variety of formats and welcomes papers from postgraduate students (Masters, PhD, postdoctoral) and from young doctors from Africa working on African issues.

As a new venture, there are currently vacancies for the positions of Chief Editor (French), Technical Editor, Book Reviews Editor, and three sub-editors for Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences (both in the English and French section).

Vacancies also exist for peer reviewers. Whilst the editors retain editorial independence, an academic advisory board composed of renowned academicians working on Africa oversees the development of the journal to ensure its quality and consistency.

All African research postgraduates under supervised study working on Africa from any university worldwide are warmly invited to apply to fill these roles.

As a member of the editorial board, you will not only boost your career profile but will also develop a variety of skills necessary in publishing.

You will also get an opportunity to develop your communication skills and discover more about the continent as you work alongside a diverse range of persons from all over Africa.

If any of these positions interest you, do not hesitate to contact us at asri.asso @ yahoo.com
