Internal Auditor

The role
  • Carry out risk identification, assessment and audit planning for all risk areas of the company’s operations
  • Report and communicate audit findings to Managing Director and the Board audit committee;
  • Conducting a review of the company’s Information System Control procedures for adequacy, effectiveness and reliability
  • Evaluate the corporate governance processes and make recommendation for improvement;
  • Implement the company’s internal audit policies and procedures;
  • Plan and coordinate the timely performance of special audit investigations and forensic audits as necessary;
  • Follow up reviews- assess the implementation of management action plans to address internal control deficiencies;
  • Preparation of the department’s annual budget including control and monitoring of implementation; and
The person

The person should possess (minimum qualification)
  • Bachelors degree in a business related field from a recognized university, preferably Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration/Business Management
  • Possessing a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification is an added advantage;
  • Be a Certified Internal Auditor and membership of CIA, CPA(K) or ACCA;
  • At least five years’ experience in Internal Auditor role ideally in a service industry;
  • Practical experience in conducting special audits, investigations and forensic audits; and
  • Experience in people management and development of teams.

Area Manager

The role
  • To co-ordinate the commercial and technical activities of the region as a team leader working with heads of departments
  • To ensure that area customers get quality and efficient services.
  • To liaise with stakeholders and the Head Office on policy, operational and administrative matters.
  • Develop and implement business plans for the area
  • Ensure that there is a compliance with corporate policies
  • Ensure that area targets are met as agreed during PC negotiations
  • Co-ordinate monthly reporting in strict adherence to agreed deadlines.
The person
  • Degree in Civil Engineering/ Water related field from a recognised university
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in a responsible position in a business/commercial environment
  • Registered or registrable with IEK or ERB
  • Must be computer literate with hands on experience
  • Team player, results oriented, self driven, excellent communication skills, innovative and ability to perform under strict deadlines.

Technical Manager

The role
  • Manage the operations of the technical department and ensure effective maintenance of plants
  • Formulate and implement departmental policies and strategies
  • Develop procedures related to the function and ensure effective implementation
  • Ensure preparation of timely management reports
  • Develop and manage performance of staff
  • Capacity building through recruitment, discipline, deployment and promotion of staff in the department
  • Ensure proper treatment and disposal of sanitation waste in accordance with the law
  • Ensure optimum utilization of departmental resources
  • Provide professional leadership to staff in the department
The person
  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Water related field
  • Registered or Registrable with IEK or ERB
  • 7-10 years experience with at least 4 years at senior management level
  • Prior experience in managing a functional level in a large organization/busy environment or as Deputy Senior for at least 3 years
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools
  • Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage

Finance Officer

The role

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the holder of the position will be stationed at the regional Office:
  • Management of expenditure, treasury and cashflow
  • Preparation of accurate financial accounting and management reports
  • Implementing Finance policies and developing procedures
  • Design of appropriate internal controls
  • Controlling and directing a team of accounting department staff, on a day-to-day basis
  • Accounting for fixed Assets (FAR)
  • supervision of revenue collection
  • budget planning and administration
  • Attend to Revenue, Bank and supplier reconciliations
The person
  • B.Com or Business Management degree from a recognised university.
  • Professional Accounting qualification such as CPA(K) or ACCA
  • 2 years experience with at least 1 year’s experience at a supervisory level in a busy environment
  • Excellent computer skills and experience in use of computerised financial systems.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good people management skills

Technical Co-ordinator

The role
  • Supervise the operations and maintenance of technical operations in extraction, treatment and distribution of water.
  • Ensure construction of Consumer installations are duly executed to the company’s standards
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained
  • Ensure timely and economic maintenance programs are in place and duly executed
  • Ensure water Quality tests are carried out and the results acted on.
  • Maintain records for all the operations and prepare the necessary reports
  • Analyze and compile draft technical reports
  • Capture and update technical data into GIS database
The person
  • Bachelors degree or HND in Engineering (Civil, Water or related field)
  • Relevant professional qualification
  • 4 years experience with at least 1 year’s experience at a supervisory level
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools
  • Experience in use of Auto card

Information Technology Officer

The role
  • Administration of the company’s Information System and providing user support
  • Enhancement on the billing, accounting, payroll, stores, GIS systems, develop and maintain the company web site.
  • Coordinating computer hardware and software maintenance and support
  • Monitor system activity logs and take appropriate measures
  • Train users on trouble shooting skills
  • Maintain systems networks including WAN
  • Maintain company’s mail server
  • Programming skills will be an added advantage
The person
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a diploma in Information Technology with 5 years experience in similar organization – experience in hardware and software support, computerized systems development and data bases management and support
  • Proven oral and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and work effectively in teams.
  • Knowledge on GIS is an added advantage
