Job Summary

These sectors include Education, Gender & Development, Community Development Services, Water and Environmental Sanitation, North Eastern Province Program (Host community).
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Development of strategies and plans which correspond with CARE Kenya mission & vision.
- Responsible for program annual plans, budgets, program implementations and reports.
- Work towards Strengthening sectoral capacity building and synergy.
- Program Management; for ensuring quality project implementation, budget management and timely donor reporting for projects funded by multiple donors.
- Responsible for Fundraising and Marketing CARE projects.
- Networking and Management of Exchange Programmes and also represent CARE with donors, NGO consortium partners, & government in meetings, workshops and learning forums.
- Staff Development & Supervision: Line manage direct reports, Coach and mentor staff; support staff to build capacity to monitor activities and budgets, develop proposals and budgets and promote a learning culture and support learning activities among programme staff.
- Operationalization of Community Self Management.
- Local Area Programming.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in a development related field, preferably at masters' level.
- At least three years consistently good performance demonstrated in a senior position.
- Directly involved in programming, preferable within CARE.
- Good program development, M&E, and report writing skills. Experience in strategic planning. Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.
- Excellent management skills and experience. Strong budget proposal skills and experience.
- Excellent team building, coaching and mentoring skills. Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral teams. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good computing skills in word-processing, spreadsheets
- Excellent people management, problem solving and communications skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams and build relationships with stakeholders
