Christian Children’s Fund (Kenya) Vacancy Announcement

CCF Kenya, a non profit international organization whose mandate is to improve the well-being of children and to enhance opportunities for the development of their full potential, seeks to fill the following positions:

Human Resources & Administration Officer Ref No: (CCFK/2008/015), Nairobi.

Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager, the HR Assistant will be responsible for assisting in all HR and Administration systems in CCF Kenya’s operations. The position demands that the incumbent develops a good understating of Human Resources and Administration systems and process.

Among other duties, the incumbent will be responsible for: reviewing and updating standard processes and forms related to human resources and administrative issues; assisting in recruitment, selection, induction and reference checks of new employees; updating and maintaining HR data; assisting in planning staff development programs as per performance evaluation reports; preparation and submission of returns and subscriptions to affiliate parties and regulatory agencies on time; managing vehicle fleet management with the assistance of general office administrator; participating in unit/department budgetary processes and provision of logistical support to administration and procurement department.

The candidate must be a qualified Human Resources professional (Bachelors Degree and/or Diploma in Human Resources Management), with solid understanding of Kenya employment legislation. In addition, a minimum 2 years experience in a busy HR and Admin office; IT literate with good report writing skills; ddemonstrated leadership skills and high integrity; good negotiation and communication abilities; mature disposition and good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality in service delivery and team player and be able to work in a diverse cultural working environment are requirements for this position.

Procurement Officer Ref No: CCFK/2008/016), Nairobi.

Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for: managing the procurement function as per the established CCF policies and procedures; undertaking the tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of CCF’s purchasing process; assisting in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and whole life costing; participating in negotiation of contract terms on a range of central contracts and to monitor performance against these contracts; participating in the purchasing activities and working closely with the representatives of CCF Affiliates; promotion of procurement function within the CCF including the development and improvement of training and skills of staff involved in the devolved purchasing environment and participating in internal and external meetings, promoting procurement best practice among other duties.

The candidate must have: A Bachelor degree in Business Administration/Purchasing & Supply or Certified Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) qualification; the ability to liaise with other technical departments on procurement; be able to plan and coordinate effectively; a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, negotiation and bid analysis skills.



Capacity Building Accountant Ref.No: CCFK/2008/018), Nairobi.

Reporting to the Director-Finance and Administration, the Capacity Building Accountant will be responsible for: assessing financial management capacity of community based organizations with a view to identifying the gaps, promoting improvement in accounting skills amongst Community Organizations staff and management committees through relevant training, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, reviewing and developing of specimen financial records of Community Organizations and Partners, reviewing all projects annual and quarterly budgets before approval by the Finance Director, ensuring, timely disbursement of funds to the projects and submission of reports by the projects, submitting project balances to the International Office by 15th of every month, assessing cluster roll out plans of the Bright Futures in consultation with M & E coordinator among any other duties.

The candidate must have: A Bachelors Degree in Commerce and a CPA (K) with 3 years post qualification experience, training and facilitation skills, strong analytical skills, ability to promote the highest standards of integrity and accountability, strong skills in assessment of proposals, monitoring partners records and accounting for funds and high Integrity and team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The job requires extensive travel within Kenya.
