The Water Resources Management Authority was established under the Water Act.2002. The Water Act. 2002 provides the foundation for the implementation of the National Water Resources Management Strategy, whose overall goal is to meet the water, related Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
The Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA) is the lead agency in water resources management and its overall development objectives is to ensure a rational and effective framework to meet the water needs for national economic development, poverty alleviation, environmental protection and social well being of the people of Kenya.

TECHNICAL MANAGER - 1 POST
(a) Job Description
The Technical Manager will head the Technical Department reporting directly to the C.E.O.
The Technical Manager will be in charge of contributing to the technical aspects of water resources.
In this capacity, he/she will be responsible for:-
- Developing technical standards and rules for the sector including reporting process on the sector performance indicators charges, and regulations.
- Developing and implementation of harmonious working mechanism for integrated water resource management.
- Developing of permit standards and conditions and monitoring compliance
- Monitoring and enforcement of technical standards and rules and regulation for the sub-sector Contributing to charges negotiations
- Collecting and analysis of information, and data from regional offices and water user associations
- Preparing contracts and MOUs
The Technical Manager should be an experienced scientist and have additional understanding of finance and water sector economics.
Moreover, he would need to have the following qualifications.
- Experience in the management of water sector (minimum of 15 years experience) including minimum 5 years in a senior position;
- A Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences or related Engineering field, Masters/Post graduate qualification in water related field will be an added advantage
- Understanding of the technical working of the various water resources scientists
- Ability to coordinate and direct multisectoral teams Well developed communications, interpersonal, management and motivational skills
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Age limit 50 years and below
A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the position will be offered to the right candidate on a three (3) year contract.
