Applicants should be holders of B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture or Horticulture or related field from a recognized university. In addition, the applicant should have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience as a technician in a university or equivalent research institution. Knowledge of computer applications will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate will be involved in planning, preparing and implementing practical classes and research projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The ideal candidate would have sufficient competence, knowledge and cooperative skills to plan and handle research, even in the absence of teaching staff.

TECHNICIAN SCALE
5/6/7 (A/B/C) (1 POSITION) -AC/256/10/2008

Applicants should be holders of Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture or related field from a recognized university or post-secondary institution. In addition, the applicants should have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience as a field assistant or technician in a university or equivalent research institution. Knowledge of computer applications will be an added advantage.

TECHNICIAN
SCALE 5/6/7 (A/B/C) (1 POSITION) -AC/257/10/2008

Applicants should have at least a Diploma Certificate in Remote Sensing and Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) and/or Cartography from a recognized institution.

One should have at least two (2) years working experience in a busy Geoinformatics Laboratory.

PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST

SCALE 9/10 (E/F) (2 POSITION) - AD/10/10/08

The Applicants must have KCSE C Plain or its equivalent or above. He/she should be holders of Diploma in Pharmacy from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized institution. Higher National Diploma in the relevant field from any recognized institution will be an added advantage.

The applicants should be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

They should have experience of not less than 3 years. In addition the applicants should have proven ability to organize, provide and plan for pharmaceutical services.

Duties and responsibilities include: Dispensing, compounding, ordering and recording of drugs or related items and any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER
SCALE 9/10 GRADE E/F (1 POSITION) - AD/11/10/08

Applicants should have KCE Div. II or its equivalent. He/She should have a diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College or equivalent recognized institution with at least three (3) years working experience. Those with higher diploma in Environmental Health will have an added advantage.

Duties and responsibilities include: execution and implimentation of Public Health Services in the university, enforcement of Public Health Acts; Investigations and control of communicable diseases and epidemics, maintenance of health standards, monitoring water quality, control of food quality and any other duties as may be assigned by the head of department.

ENROLLED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE
SCALE 7/8 (GRADE C/D) (14 POSITIONS) - AD/12/10/08

Applicants must have KCSE mean grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent or above, possess a certificate in Enrolled Community Health Nurse from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized institution. All candidates must be enrolled by the Nursing Council of Kenya and have a valid practice license.

Preference will be given to those with counseling VCT or PMTCT, MCH/FR or Comprehensive Care Therapy (CCT).

The candidate must have a working experience of over 3 years in a busy hospital/institution.

Duties and responsibilities will include provision of nursing care, proper maintenance of patients' records; he/she should be ready to work during weekends, public holidays or night in any of the university campuses.

Salary Scale

Pharmaceutical Technologist/Public Health Officer E/F: Ksh.20,800x1,040p.a - sh.28,800x1,200 p.a - Ksh. 33,600p.m.

Senior Technician (D/E/F): Kshs. 18,000 x 900 p.a- 24,000 x 1,200
p.a - kshs.33,600/p.m.

Enrolled Community Nurse grade C/D; Ksh. 15,600x780p.a - Ksh. 21 600x900
- Ksh.25,200p.m.

Technician (A/B/C): Kshs. 12,000 x 600 p.a - 75,600 x 780 p.a - Kshs.21 ,840/= pm.
