The Board of Directors of Nyahururu Water and Sanitation Company is seeking to fill the following key management positions in its establishment.
1. Managing Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you have overall responsibility for planning, directing and controlling the operations of the Company to ensure that it meets the consumers' and shareholders' needs.
Your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Changing the culture within the company to one more consistent with private sector principles and practices.
- Developing and ensuring the implementation of the Company's policies and strategies to ensure profitable operations.
- Formulating and periodically updating the Corporate Plan including projections of any necessary expansion and development of facilities and extensions/expansions of business operations.
- Directing and coordinating the Company's operations and overall administration so as to ensure that the various organs of the company operate in conformity with the overall operational plans and performance targets and ensure compliance with sector regulation.
- Advising the Board of Directors concerning future activities of the Company and also on the objectives and policies as they affect the Company.
You will have at least 8 years' working experience in a busy commercial utility environment, with four of these years being at Senior Management level.
You will have demonstrated leadership qualities and proven experience in dealing with change within an organization.
You will also have a record of proven performance, self-driven, result-oriented and posses excellent public relations skills.
2. Head of Technical Services (Technical Manager)
Reporting to me Chief Executive, you will be responsible for; among other things:
- Directing, coordinating, controlling and managing the Company's Technical operations and maintenance of infrastructure to ensure that water and sewerage services are provided to the required standards.
- Developing a customer focused programme on the provision of services by forming and maintaining good working relationships with customers.
- Managing all major and minor construction works, either by using external consultants or in- house company resources.
- Ensuring proper management of the Company's assets such as plant machinery through effective maintenance and repairs so as to maximize the return on investment.
- Developing departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate achievement of overall Company objectives.
- Be responsible for the development of departmental staff by ensuring they are properly trained and motivated.
You should also have at least 3 years' engineering work experience in Water and Sewerage utility operations.
You should be self-driven and motivated with a high need for achievement; people oriented
and have demonstrated good leadership qualities
Remuneration shall be negotiable and market based.
