ASSISTANT HEALTHCARE OFFICER

Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Healthcare Services Manager, the Assistant Healthcare Officer's main purpose will be to ensure that our clients receive quality healthcare at an affordable price.

Key responsibilities.

  • Maintain and review pre-authorization processes. This includes all admissions, referrals, fee negotiation, discharge planning and decisions on level of care.
  • Maintain close working relations with sick members, panel of doctors and employer.
  • Review of medical services for appropriateness and cost effectiveness based on established medical standards.
  • Coordinate successful and cost effective outcomes which include rehabilitation treatment
  • Clinical assessment and screening of invoices with treatment protocols to ensure fees charged are within agreed tariffs.
  • Ensure providers have an updated member list every month to ensure smooth process.
  • Continuous member education of medical insurance benefits and services.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the healthcare service providers, brokers, agents and policy holders.
  • Daily status reporting to the manager and respective team leaders
  • Review utilization reports.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Diploma in nursing / Clinical medicine
  • Progress towards Diploma in insurance either ACII or AIIK
  • Experience: 3 years in insurance High level computer skills
