The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), an international conservation organization invites applications for the post of Finance Compliance Officer, who will be an integral member of AWF's Finance department.
This position reports to the Regional Finance Director and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The successful candidate will:-
- Under the direction of the Regional Finance Director, select and review monthly sampling of transactions from each Heartland office
- Collect and scan all documentation relating to program advances and sub grants. Maintain electronic filing of documentation, and inform Budget Manager and Grant Manager when new sub grants are issued. Review program advance reports submitted by F&A officer(s) for compliance.
- Review to ensure that equipment are capitalized and ensure all equipments are updated in e-assets software.
- Prepare and provide a monthly compliance log to the relevant officers.
- Review staff advances report from F&A officers, Review monthly budget and grant report for miscodings and ensure they are corrected on time.
- Tally bank & petty cash reconciliations from F&A officers and review all reconciling items.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant
- At least 3-5 years work experience in a busy finance office
- Knowledge & working experience of SUN systems and QuickBooks
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Self driven
- Results-oriented
- Internal Audit experience will be an added advantage
