The Access Network Operations a department within the Technical Division is responsible for ensuring effective operations and providing support required on the access network. The Department is looking to fill the following vacancy within the team;
SUPPORT ENGINEER - TRANSMISSION
REF:NM-SET-OCT08
Reporting to the Team Manager Transmission this person will be responsible for providing long term solutions and support to transmission system faults and problems, providing second line maintenance support, interfacing with the suppliers of the transmission equipment, performing transmission systems upgrades and major network configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all corrective and preventive maintenance schedules, procedures and processes are undertaken to ensure system and service availability is above KPI;
- Resolution of faults escalated from 1st line maintenance team to ANO Transmission;
- Ensuring that newly integrated Tx equipment are properly accepted in accordance with the laid down procedures;
- Configuring changes on transmission systems including capacity and SW upgrades;
- Providing proactive qualitative fault identification and resolution.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution;
- 3 Years working experience in telecommunications environment with at least 2 years experience in a GSM(Transmission) environment;
- Analytical and problem solving skills;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good presentation skills;
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work without supervision;
- Proactive and self motivated.
