Support Engineer - Radio

The Access Network Operations a department within the Technical Division is responsible for ensuring effective operations and providing support required on the access network. The Department is looking to fill the following vacancy within the team;

SUPPORT ENGINEER - RADIO
REF:ANO-SET-OCT08

Reporting to the Team Manager Radio this person will be responsible for providing Long term radio access network solutions and support, providing second line maintenance support, interfacing with the suppliers of RAN equipment, performing RAN subsystem upgrades and major network configurations changes.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensuring all corrective and preventive maintenance procedures / processes are followed and adhered to;
* Resolution of faults escalated from 1st line maintenance team;
* Ensuring all newly integrated RAN equipment follow and adhere to the laid procedures;
* Configuring changes on RAN Network elements including capacity and SW upgrades;
* Providing proactive qualitative initiatives to improve CDI.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution;
* 3 Years working experience in telecommunications environment with at least 2 years experience in a GSM/UMTS environment;
* Analytical and problem solving skills;
* Good communication and interpersonal skills;
* Good presentation skills;
* Ability to meet strict deadlines and work with minimum supervision;
* Proactive and self motivated.
