Invites applications from Sudanese Nationals for the position of Programme Assistant, (GS-5), Malakal.

Major responsibilities

1. Collects information mainly from records and reports and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports on programme and project activities and funding status and utilization report and timely sharing of ProMS generated monitoring reports.

2. Organizes data and information, prepares and maintains records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/programme implementation.

3. Contributes to the preparation of reports, project documents and submissions by providing information, preparing tables and drafting relatively routine sections. Prepares background information for use in discussions with UNICEF sectors, Governments, partners, and other organizations. Participates in the briefing and debriefing of project personnel

4. Scrutinizes plans of operations, exchange of letters and takes appropriate follow-up actions. Assists in the administrative process of Government request for assistance.

5. Carries out specific administrative operational/control tasks for project/programme activities

6. Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

1. Completion of Secondary education, In-house or external courses in secretarial/social sciences.

2. Seven years of progressively responsible/experience in clerical or administrative work of which at least one year is closely related to programme support activities, preferably in a United Nations Agency.

3. Fluency in English and another UN Language as required, Knowledge of Local language of the duty station is an added asset.

4. Knowledge of ProMs

Remuneration: An attractive package will be applicable at the relevant applicable UN salary scale.
