Quality Improvement Advisor for OVC Programs, Kenya Vacancies: University Research Co., LLC

Position Title: Quality Improvement Advisor for OVC Programs, Kenya

Reports To: Regional Improvement Advisor for OVC Programs in Kenya

Liaise with: Senior QI Advisor for OVC Programs/ HCI, Bethesda, Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, Kenya, and PEPFAR

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Position Summary

The QI Advisor, in collaboration with USG partners and Ql TWG for OVC Programs, will provide support for planning activities, coordinating among different implementing partners.

The Advisor will report directly to HCI Regional Quality Improvement Advisor for OVC programs based in Nairobi to ensure that planned activities will take place in a timely manner.

In addition, the Advisor will liaise with the Senior Quality Improvement Advisor for OVC Programs to ensure that all activities align with vision and objectives of the Care that Counts Initiative.

The QI Advisor will provide leadership to help partners in Kenya along the Ql Road Map all the way to the point of service delivery.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
  • Act as the HCI focal person in Kenya for OVC Ql Activities for Kenya
  • Provide technical guidance to develop service standards (from drafts to final standards)
  • Provide technical leadership to organise the piloting of service standards with three major USG funded partners in Kenya.
  • Document the Ql process for OVC Programs, from standards development to gathering of evidence of feasibility and outcomes of standards based approach for OVC programs.
  • Present evidence and advocate for Ql for OVC Programs across levels of implementing partners
  • Organise several workshop logistics in collaboration with Ministry of Gender and Social Development and USG funded implementers.
  • Plan and manage budgets
  • Liaise with HCI Bethesda and provide administrative, financial and technical reports as necessary
Qualifications/Competencies:
  • A Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Equivalent a Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • Prior experience in quality improvement methods
  • Demonstrated strong program implementation skills and organisational skills.
  • Technical expertise in the field of OVC programs in Kenya with an experience of not less that 3 years.
  • Demonstrated experience of liaising with policy makers and community-based response to HIV/AIDS issues in Kenya.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations USG funded Programs
Essential Abilities
  • Able to achieve work within an agreed timetable by set deadlines
  • Able to prioritise own work under pressure and within guidelines agreed with Supervisor
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Able to communicate well with Government of Kenya, donors, and implementers.
  • Ability to budget and manage finances on a monthly basis.
