PROJECT OFFICERS – CAPACITY BUILDING AND LIVELIHOODS (2 POSTS)

Fashoda Youth Forum (FYF) is a South Sudanese Non-governmental Organization registered in Sudan under the section 11.2 of the New Sudan NGO Act by South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SSRRC) in South Sudan, and has been working in Sudan for over 8 years through local and International partners &, in close collaboration with the GOSS. It directly implements Healthcare, Nutrition, Food Security and Livelihood, Water & Sanitation programmes in rural areas of Upper Nile State. See www.fashodayouthforum.org for more information.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced hard working Field Officers with a relevant qualification, good knowledge in Community Peace Building & Food Security and Livelihood.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure livelihood program weekly and monthly reports are comprehensive, accurate and within schedule.
- Coordinate with Finance Officer to ensure Budget balances are properly and accurately prepared and presented
- Facilitate a coordinated capacity building exercise with key government staff, for sustainable service delivery
- Conduct farmer field school training activities
- Develop effective training guides for on-farm and organizational capacity building of farmers groups and farmers associations
- Train farmers on proper conservation techniques
- Promote gender equity in agriculture in Ogod area, especially encouraging and supporting women participation in agricultural projects
- Train farmers on proper and profitable crop diversification and farm risk management, included integrated pest management strategies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture, Farm Management or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience with any agriculture project, conflict management process that prepare young people women and the community at large, construction, people management & food security and livelihood management. Prior NGO or government experience is an asset.
Fluency in written and spoken English is desirable. Ability to communicate in Arabic and/or Shilluk language is an added advantage. Candidate should have excellent communication skills and clear understanding of South Sudan agriculture and cooperative development policies. Computer knowledge is a must.
