Project Coordinator, LWR

Location: Makindu
Purpose:
The Project Coordinator’s core function is to coordinate the implementation and management of a proposed drought relief and recovery project and accompany partners, NEEMA and Makindu Self-Help Groups, in developing appropriate institutional and organizational frameworks to ensure active participation by project and community members while promoting transparency and accountability in the use of project resources.
The role of the Project Coordinator is to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with contractual obligations and meets the highest standard of implementation.

- Bachelor’s degree in community development, economics/finance, business administration, agribusiness, agriculture economics, forestry or other relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the design, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community and economic development and/or disaster recovery projects. Experience with food-for-work, cash-for-work or voucher activities a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong organizational, facilitation and planning skills.
- Highly proactive and ability to perform with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Strong computer and internet skills (MS Word, Excel, Explorer).
Project Finance Officer, LWR

Reports to: Project Coordinator, with technical supervision from LWR’s Regional Finance and Administration Officer

Purpose:
- The Project Finance Officer performs all bookkeeping, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting related to project administration and provides technical support to the partners’ financial operations, reporting, training and management.
Required Skills and qualifications

- Bachelors Degree in Commerce- Accounting or Certified Public Accountant part II
- Two years minimum experience in donor/NGO project accounting; experience in accounting for external donor-funded projects an advantage.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer and internet skills (MS Word, Excel, Explorer); experience with loan tracking software or other accounting packages a plus.

Purpose:
The Project Officer-Community Development’s core function is to mobilize project participants and community members to participate in project activities and support partner’s organizational strengthening and development.
The Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of key partner project strategies in coordination with other technical and administrative project staff, Board members and key stakeholders.

Natural Resource Management Officer
(1 Position)
Reports to: Board of Directors, NEEMA and Makindu SHG, with technical supervision and oversight by LWR’s Project Coordinator
Purpose: The Natural Resource Management Officer’s function is to coordinate the implementation and reporting of all the project environmental activities including irrigation system oversight and maintenance, training, conservation planning and liaison with the relevant Government departments.
S/He works both NEEMA and Makindu SHGs, working 50% of his/her time on each.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Purpose: The Natural Resource Management Officer’s function is to coordinate the implementation and reporting of all the project environmental activities including irrigation system oversight and maintenance, training, conservation planning and liaison with the relevant Government departments.
S/He works both NEEMA and Makindu SHGs, working 50% of his/her time on each.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, engineering, hydrology, environmental studies, agriculture, forestry or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the implementation of watershed management, conservation or environmental protection and mitigation activities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong organizational, facilitation and participatory planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Computer skills and internet skills (MS Word, Excel, Explorer).
Accountant
