Assistant Chief Accountant Career Opportunity in Kenya

A leading general insurance company is looking for a qualified person to fill the following position:

Title: Assistant Chief Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Accountant in the management of the company’s financial resources and reporting.
• Maintaining and monitoring effective internal and financial controls
• Maintaining the general ledger
• Plan, co-ordinate, control and direct financial resources including managing treasury.
• Preparation of periodical management reports and annual Financial reports
• Supervision and mentoring of Departments’ staff

Person Profile

• A university graduate in a business or related discipline
• At least 35 years of age
• A qualified Accountant in possession of a CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Well developed Information technology skills with proficiency in computer accounting applications
• At least 8 years experience in accounting two of which must be in a similar position
• Broad knowledge of the accountancy profession matters and International Financial Reporting Standards
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable with high level of integrity
• Ability to build and motivate a team
