Clinical Officer- Paediatrics Job Vacancy: Jhpiego

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is an international NGO supporting health programs to improve the health of women and their families.

Jhpiego-Kenya works in close collaboration with both the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in the areas of HIV, Malaria, TB, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

We are currently recruiting experienced individuals with excellent technical skills who is a team players, dedicated, hard working, innovative, highly motivated and able to work in a high pressure environment requiring multi-tasking abilities.

Clinical Officer- Paediatrics

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support for child health programs
  • Assist in the development of tools and strategies for improving child health
  • Provide technical support to ministries of health (MOH) staff at national, provincial and district level
  • Serve as a technical advisor to the child health inter-agency coordinating committee
  • Provide technical support to key initiatives of the MOH: malezi bora, infant and young child nutrition, etc
  • Represent Jhpiego in technical meetings on Child Health
  • Enhance linkages between clinical care and community activities
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with MOH, donors, NGOs and other partners
  • Prepare work plans and activity budgets
  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly progress reports
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluation of the program
Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine ( Paediatrics)
  • 5 years of experience supporting Child Health programs
  • Strong background in and knowledge of malaria, maternal and newborn health, focused ANC, Pediatric HIV, supervision and quality improvement systems
  • Training & supervision experience in Child Health programs e.g. IMCI
  • Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint.
