Save the Children UK Kenya is increasing management capacity to support the rapid expansion of our programmes in response to the emergency situation in North Eastern Kenya.

HR Director
(1 position based Nairobi. 1 year contract)

This is a senior level Director position. As a member of the Senior Management Team provide strategic human resource advice and management.

Advise on HR strategy, policy and procedure at a national level and contribute to HR regionally and globally.

Person Specification
  • Degree in social sciences or related discipline with postgraduate qualification in Human Resource management ideally an MBA in strategic HR Management
  • Strong management skills including analytical skills, judgement and decision making
  • Resourcefulness and creativity to develop the role of HR within the programme and ensure the most effective support to management
  • Highly developed communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills to establish effective, collaborative relationships with a wide variety of internal and external audiences, including remotely
  • Substantial experience in a senior HR role
  • Experience with an INGO in an HR role ideally in implementing emergency response
  • Fluent in English and Swahili
Sub Area Office Coordinator Habaswein

Manage the efficient and proactive operation of the Habaswein sub-office. Support field teams to achieve their work plans in an efficient and timely manner.

Represent Save the Children UK in the sub-district.

Person Specification
  • Diploma in Management, Business Administration, Personnel Management, Logistics or related fields
  • Substantial experience working in management/administration with NGOs/UN including emergency response ideally nutrition and health programmes
  • Proven experience in successful team management
  • Excellent communication skills including written and spoken English and Swahili
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
