Male Circumcision (MC) Communication Program Manager Job Vacancy: Academy for Educational Development (AED)

The Academy for Educational Development (AED), an international not-for-profit organization, working in education and training, health and nutrition, democracy and governance, and economic development seeks to recruit for the position of Male Circumcision (MC) Program Manager for its C-Change program based in Nairobi.

Communication for Change (C-Change) is USAID’s flagship program under the Academy for Educational Development to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of communication for behavior and social change as an integral part of development efforts in health, environment, and civil society.

The purpose of the project is to strengthen behavior change communication in Male Circumcision programs in Kenya.

Task Description:
  • The MC Communication Program Manager will serve as the key contact in delivering technical assistance to partners and programming support on MC communication for C-Change.
Responsibilities:

The MC Communication Program Manager will be responsible for
  • managing the development, implementation, costing and evaluation of national and provincial level communication and research programs for MC;
  • building and maintaining strong partnerships with a range of organizations working at national and provincial level; and
  • organizing and supervising activities contracted to various communication and research firms, including media monitoring and production of materials.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Masters or higher level of education in Public Health, Communication or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in working with communication for health or development.
  • Direct experience in working on MC communication for HIV prevention in Kenya.
  • Experience in managing communication programs involving a range of media and communication approaches and in working directly with governmental and non-governmental partners is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and Swahili languages are desired. Kenyan residents preferred.
