Internal Auditor Job Vacancy: Parliamentary Service Commission

The Parliamentary Service Commission is seeking to appoint highly motivated professionals to join the National Assembly in the following exciting and challenging position:

INTERNAL AUDITOR (PSC 8) 1 POST

Responsible to the Senior Internal Auditor, the officer will be expected to discharge duties and responsibilities listed below:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(i) As an entry point to the scheme, this grade is basically intended to provide newly recruited officers with on the job training based on actual audit work and assignments carried out
under the supervision of senior officers,

(ii) An Internal Auditor II will also undertake a variety of audit assignments relating to pre- audit of payments, evaluation and review of internal control systems and report on any weakness,

(iii) Evaluate the effectiveness of existing financial regulations and establish the level of compliance in practice.

(iv) Undertake specific audit assignments, prepare and submit detailed audit observations,

(v) Reconciliation of budgetary allocations with monthly expenditure summaries,

(vi) Ensure Government assets i.e. plant and equipment, supplies, stores etc are appropriately recorded in the relevant registers are maintained and kept safely,

(vii) Compiling and preparing reports based on audit observations made in his section/team.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this post, a candidate must have served for a minimum of three (3) years as an Internal Auditor III and must also be in possession of the following minimum qualifications.

(i) Be in possession of Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting/Finance) option
(ii) Have passed CPA part II or CIA part III.
