Nutritionists Jobs Kenya. International Rescue Committee

The International Rescue Committee seeks to fill the following positions for its Kenya
program. The position will be based in Hagadera Refugee Camp - Dadaab.

NUTRITIONISTS (2 POSITIONS)
Job Summary: With the support of nutrition team, the Nutritionist will ensure the smooth
implementation of a Comprehensive IYCF program as well as a Home-Based Therapeutic
Feeding Program (CMAM) in Hagadera Refugee camp, ensure proper communication,
co-ordination and harmonization of nutrition tools with the different stakeholders
involved in food/nutrition activities, ensure the establishment of nutrition monitoring
activities and mentor health staff in IYCF BCC strategies, case detection and referral
system. Participate in the conducting studies and surveys, train health staff in capacity
building. Improvement of the IYCF care practices in the camp as priority and ensure
timely reporting in accordance with set deadlines. Assist in quality inpatient feeding and
provision of special diets to patients with special needs and improve the provision of
quality nutrition counseling and education in the hospital and other entry points in the
health and nutrition programme.

Job Requirements: Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or community Nutrition or its
equivalent from a recognized university, previous experience in arid and semi arid lands
of Kenya, strong background in humanitarian projects, knowledge of IYCF, IMAM/CMAM
and food security interventions for marginalized Arid and Semi Arid Lands, experience in
surveys and nutrition/food security research methodologies, adept computer, writing and
communication skills.
