Behavior Change and Communication Officer, Gender Based Violence Program, Nimule
ARC International Southern Sudan Program is inviting applications from qualified and motivated persons to fill the position of Behavior Change Communication Officer for Gender Based Violence to be based in the ARC Nimule Field Office
Description of the role
The GBV BCC Officer will participate in training of community volunteers in Gender Based Violence prevention and response, provide supervisory support to peer educators, assist with the organization of special events and secondary audience trainings, pretest information, education and communication materials, participate in BCC formative assessment and liaise with the community leaders at Payam and Boma level.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting all workshops/trainings related to Behavior change communication of the GBV project.
- Facilitate BCC-related sessions at workshops and trainings.
- Participate in and assist the HIV/GBV Program Officer and sector team in conducting formative assessments on key topics as related to the project.
- Conduct Trainings and provide supervision to Peer Educators, and Volunteer Psychosocial Counselors.
- Organize and conduct special events in collaboration with HIV/GBV Program Officer and sector team.
- Compile and Submit accurate and timely reports to the HIV/GBV Program Officer on a monthly bases.
Requirements
- Diploma Qualification in social sciences or equivalent qualification in a similar or related field. A degree in social sciences or related field will be an advantage
- Familiar with BCC strategies
- Experience with Data collection and compilation.
- Fluent in English (spoken and Written), Madi, Acholi and Juba Arabic
- Competent in using Microsoft Office packages (especially Word and Excel)
- Demonstrated commitment to the prevention of GBV
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Good communication and coordination skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Previous Experience working with NGOs
- Should be Sudanese national
