A vacancy has arisen for the following position.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Position: Head of Accounts Section, Finance Department, reporting to Head of Finance
Responsibilities: Responsible for day to day operations of Accounts Section. In charge of: General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledgers - including: Accounts Payables, Inventory, Bank and Cash Books.
Key Functions:
- Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers
- Prepare monthly management financial reports
- Prepare budgets and financial reports for donor funded projects
- Prepare annual financial reports and coordinate annual external audit
- Prepare Organization's annual budget
- Prepare financial reports for Board of Directors' meetings
- Exercise effective measures in internal controls, cost controls and budgetary controls
- Staff payroll, statutory deductions and filing annual returns
- Principal assistant to Head of Finance
- 1Day to day functions of Accounts Section
- Level of Education: Degree (B. Com or equivalent)
- Professional/Additional Qualifications: CPA (K) or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years as Accountant.
- Job Skills/Behavioral Attributes: Team player, leadership skills and communication skills.
The successful candidate is expected to be an achiever, thorough, accurate and timely in executing responsibilities, self motivated, conversant with international accounting and reporting standards and have competent management and staff supervision skills.
