Plan Kenya is seeking to recruit for the position of Human Resources Manager to be based at the Kenya Country Office in Nairobi. The incumbent will report to the Country Director and will be responsible for the management and leadership of the human resources function in the organisation while proactively identifying opportunities where HR can add value to the business.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall management and development of the organisation as a member of the Country Management and Extended Country Management Team;
- Design and implementation of the HR strategy in line with the Country Strategic Plan;
- Participate in the design and implementation of organisational change processes needed to achieve business aims; Lead HR business processes to ensure attraction and retention of best people;
- Preparation and management of the country HR budget;
- Design and implementation on policies and practices in line with global policies and local employment requirements;
- Annual training needs analysis, planning, sourcing and the delivery of training and evaluation of the effectiveness of training initiatives;
- Advice and support managers and staff in the implementation of HR systems and processes;
- Works with line managers to develop and maintain succession plans for key roles in the country and Program offices;
- Provide management reports;
- Participate fully in local NGO or multi sector HR networks.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- First degree in Social Science or business discipline and post graduate qualification in HR. MBA degree is an added advantage.
- 5 years experience in human resource management and development at a senior level. Experience in development work is an added advantage.
- A detailed understanding, knowledge and experience in the HR functional areas.
- Experience in the application of statutory and labour laws and understanding of best practices in HR required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, facilitation and negotiation skills. High computer literacy
