JOB OPPORTUNITY

The African Network for Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) Uganda Chapter is national Child Rights Advocacy organization that is committed to the promotion and protection of children from abuse and neglect.

ANPPCAN seeks to recruit an Accounts/Administrative Assistant for its Apac Office

The candidates SHOULD BE:

  1. DYNAMIC, hard working, very focused and able to work with minimum supervision
  2. MUST be computer literate
  3. Prior experience in NGO or community work is an advantage.
  4. Have a valid riding permit.

JOB PURPOSE

  • Responsible for supporting the Programme Officer in Administrative and Financial duties

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • Preparing payment vouchers
  • Posting both manual and computerized Cashbook and ledger entries
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliation and other statements
  • Reporting on the use and consumption of fuel, stationary and other inputs
  • Maintaining an effective manual and electronic filing system for the office
  • Managing and reporting on the utilization of office consumables and inputs
  • The management of the office’s transport services
  • Ensuring proper and timely maintenance and repair of office equipment and facilities
  • Supporting in handling staff welfare matters
  • Coordinating ANPPCAN meetings and travel arrangements
  • Providing IT support to other members of staff
  • Maintaining a high standard of office cleanliness and lay out
  • Filing accounts records

EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have attained a minimum qualification of a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Procurement and Business Administration 1 year volunteer/ internship experience; or a related Diploma with 2 years working experience
