Assistant Accident & Emergency Coordinator
REF/HRD/AEC/04 09

Our Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department is growing rapidly both in numbers and complexity of its day to day operations. In order to strengthen our capacity to deal with these positive challenges, an opportunity for Assistant A&E Coordinator has arisen.

Reporting to the A&E Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing critical support in the following areas amongst others:
  • Day to Day management of A&E.
  • Supervising A&E Medical Officers in the management, stabilization and treatment of all patients.
  • Providing clinical support during emergencies including resuscitation, admission, discharge or referral to the appropriate consultants and units.
  • Reviewing and developing strategies for early and effective response to the acutely ill patients presenting to A&E and in the wards.
  • Co-ordinating medical training including Continuous Medical Education programs for Admitting Staff
  • In the absence of the A&E Coordinator, assume overall responsibility for A&E, ICU and HDU Medical Officers.
  • Managing and maintaining the major disaster plan.
  • Participating in developing various clinical protocols.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • MBChB
  • Post graduate training in Surgery, General Medicine or Emergency Medicine
  • 5 years work experience, 3 of which should have been in an emergency setting
  • A proven record of leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • ACLS, ATLS or APIS training
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make quick and solid decisions
  • Strong mentoring and teaching skills
ICU/HDU Coordinator
REF/HRD/ICU/04/09

Reporting to the A&E Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
  • Coordinating and supervising the day to day running of the ICU and HDU by providing both clinical and leadership skills.
  • Attending to patients in the ICU, HDU and as the need arises at the A&E Department.
  • Attending consultant ward rounds and receiving instructions from and providing regular briefings to consultants.
  • Participating in developing treatment protocols for ICU/HDU
  • Teaching and developing continuous medical education programmes for ICU/HDU staff.
  • Supervising audit and initiating relevant research.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • MBChB
  • Post graduate training in relevant specialty e.g. medicine, anaesthesia, critical care, etc.
  • At least 5 years experience at specialist level
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make quick and solid decisions
Senior Systems Administrator
REF/HRD/SSA/04/09

Reporting to the ICT Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
  • Facilitating effective use of ICT systems to maximize on benefits of installed technology.
  • Advising on trends in ICT developments relevant to healthcare and other aspects of business management.
  • Providing technical guidance in the procurement of ICT systems and technology.
  • Implementing in house ICT systems in liaison with user departments
  • Managing service contracts and ensuring that service level agreements are met.
  • Assisting in leading the ICT team.
  • Participating in training of staff in the ICT department and in other departments.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification in core areas of networking, cabling, ERP software and data base products
  • 5 years progressive experience in a busy ICT support environment handling both software and hardware
  • Good business process analysis skills
  • Ability to establish solid business advisory relationships with line managers
