Assistant Administrator for KESHO Job Vacancy

KESHO: Enhancing Opportunities for Education in Kilifi, Kenya.

KESHO is a registered Community Based Organisation in Kenya SS/KFI/LR/WG/BAH – D/17/2008 and a Cooperating Institution of Rotary International.

KESHO is a rapidly growing charitable organisation in Kilifi District which is concerned with sponsoring children through all levels of the educational spectrum. We're currently sponsoring 150 students and are looking for an Assistant Administrator to help coordinate the effort.

We are seeking a full-time assistant administrator to support the work of KESHO. KESHO is an organization offering assistance to children from Kilifi District to attend school.

The organization has been operating for five years and experiencing continuous growth.

Current sponsorships stand at 150 students across all levels of the education system.

The assistant administrator will have a Higher National Diploma (or a Part II diploma if with sufficient relevant experience). Counseling, word processing and database management skills will be an advantage.

S/he will be highly motivated, organized, willing to take on new challenges and fully supportive of the aims of KESHO.

Ideally the person will be familiar with the local area and languages and sensitive to its culture and fluent in a local language and English.

S/he will be supporting the work of the Administrator and be willing to assist in a broad range of duties as required. S/he will undertake the secretarial requirements of the organisation for example, in terms of shortlisting new students in need of sponsorship, monitoring the progress of existing students and for organizing sponsor mailshots.

S/he will supervise the student resource centre and give practical help with the implementation of fundraising events and Student Open Days. S/he must be willing occasionally to use public transport to visit schools and students.

The postholder will have a probationary period of 3 months and an initial contract renewable after one year depending on performance. S/he will be responsible to the KESHO committee.

Starting salary Ksh20,000 – Ksh25,000 gross pcm
