The Eastern Africa College of Ophthalmologists (EACO) Jobs and Careers

Our Client, The Eastern Africa College of Ophthalmologists (EACO) is a partnership between five public Universities in East Africa. With financial support from the European Commission, EACO is implementing a five year project aiming at improving eye health in East Africa through the training of Ophthalmologists.

To boost the existing team, EACO is seeking to engage high calibre, dynamic and results oriented professionals of high integrity to join the team and grow with it.

EACO-PQM/PO/02-09 -Project Officer

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure donor contract compliance by way of planning, implementing, field monitoring
  • Monitor project to pro-actively identify risks related to contract compliance
  • Ensure project funds are used in accordance with donor policies and procedures
  • Ensure the implementation of the program activities as per schedule
  • Visit project sites and provide management and administrative support
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend suitable remedies.
Key requirements:
  • BA in the Social Sciences with a minimum 3 years experience in Project Management
  • High level of credibility and integrity
  • Team Player with excellent community mobilization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Experience working in donor funded projects
EACO-PQM/DM/02-09 Driver/Messenger

Key responsibilities:
  • Driving project vehicles.
  • Managing simple mechanical repairs
  • Office administrative support Key requirements:
  • A valid Kenyan Driver's License backed by a 3-5 years driving experience
  • 2-3 years experience as a cleaner/messenger.
  • Experience for working in a non-governmental organization will be an added advantage.
