Dominion Farms Limited, a commercial rice farming operation situated in Nyanza Province, seeks to recruit for the position of Field Manager to be based on the farm near Siaya.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility for planning, organizing and controlling of all land preparation, planting and irrigation of rice fields
- Supervision over operations of heavy agricultural field equipment
- Monitoring trial plots for study of diseases, pests, weeds and yield potential
- Coordinating daily activities of field team
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Agriculture
- General computer knowledge
- Previous management experience on large commercial crop production, preferably rice, but not essential (10 -15 years)
- Familiar with corporate budgeting procedures and policies
- Ability to plan ahead and meet meticulous deadlines and targets
