Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in Planning and designing for the current and upcoming Child Welfare interventions.
- Assist in designing tools for assessment, monitoring and use the tools to carry out regular monitoring and tracking of activities during implementation of the programme.
- Assist in identifying specific contribution (added value) of current Child Welfare programme to poverty alleviation in Mandera District.
- Assist in developing the Child Welfares’ interventions in Mandera, by increasing the number of Child Welfares and programmes through concept notes and proposals development.
- Identify potential programmes to compliment the Child Welfare One to One sponsorship in the district
- Assist in getting better insight into field office’s strategic interventions and operational capacities (staff, resource, management, etc) in the field
- Assist the Child Welfare Coordinator to develop the Country Program in collaboration with national specialists, line ministry experts, national staff, country director, programme manager and other stakeholders
- Provide technical support, write program and project documents
- Prepare and submit regular program, projects reports
- Account to the delivery of the country program strategic objectives and delivery of timely agreed upon outputs and reports
- Ensure monitoring and evaluation system in place
- Identify any apparent issues in the Child Welfares program and report immediately
- Perform other related duties as required by the programme coordinator
Requirements:
- A graduate preferably with a degree in social sciences, community development, education or other related field.
- A minimum of 3 years field experience in humanitarian work in a related position
- Proven record of dealing with children and protection of their rights.
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as a part of a team.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal
- Effective IT Skills (Word & Excel).
- Financial reporting and planning skills.
- Report writing and research.
- Communication, tact and negotiation skills.
- Sympathetic with aims & objectives of Islamic Relief; empathy with and understanding of the basic teachings and values of Islam.
- Energetic and able to operate in situations which may be arduous.
