South Sudan: Assistant Finance Manager

Start date: ASAP

Contract: 2 years

We are seeking an experienced individual to be responsible for supporting project finance operations through direct technical support and training to project staff. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with frequent travel to Southern Sudan field sites as requested by the Finance Manager to conduct training of finance and non finance staff in budgeting, budget tracking, balance sheet management and monitoring compliance with donor and internal financial policies and procedures.

The role also includes facilitating training in monitoring procurement practices and facilitating best practice in resource utilization including the use of assets, and verifying stocks and gifts in kind.

You will have a graduate degree in related field (Accounting) and / or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CPA with proven experience in overseeing financial and administrative systems of a large project in an INGO environment.

You will demonstrate initiative, problem solving and good decision making abilities and have experience of designing & implementing finance systems.

You will be a team player who is both adaptable and flexible, with excellent written and verbal communication in English.

You will have strong organisational skills, and have an aptitude for attention to detail. The nature of the work will require the successful candidate to apply for a Police / Criminal Records check.
