One Communications Limited, a subsidiary of Safaricom Limited, is looking to fill the following position:
WiMAX RADIO ENGINEER
REF: ENG-WRE-NOV 08
Reporting to the Optimization Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising contractors work as well as ensuring that all an operational and function network is delivered to the Network Operations section according to the standards and specifications of the design. The key responsibilities for this position will be as follows:
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all infrastructure and equipment installation done is as per the specifications of the engineering design
Troubleshoot problems in liaison with the contractors / suppliers to ensure minimum downtime
Perform Site Acceptance Tests to ensure compliance with the quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Telecommunications Engineering
- 5 years experience Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave (MW) Engineering
- Knowledge of IP theory
- Cisco Certification
- Knowledge in WiMAX equipment installation and commissioning
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines with minimum supervision;
- Be highly analytical with good problem solving skills
- A team player and a result oriented individual.
