Position Title: Financial Controller
Location: Kabul, Afghanistan
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field and Accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA).
- Minimum three years accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Prior supervisory and management background.
- Fluency in English. Demonstrated abilities as a team player. Excellent computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, and one or more accounting systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The Financial Controller acts as a key member of the hospital management team by monitoring and improving financial management and internal control systems, and managing and building the capacities of subordinate financial staff members.
- Ensure timely submission of monthly financial reports, government reports, and other ad hoc reports as requested by CURE US and the senior management team of the hospital.
- Prepare and finalize annual budget and quarterly performance reports as needed.
- Monitor and control current expenditures to ensure that expenditures remain within available funding and approved budgets.
- Provide oversight and responsibility for cash flow management.
- Maintain and improve appropriate systems on internal control, particularly with respect to patient fees and patient billing.
- Liaise with auditors with respect to CURE'S audit requirements and facilitate audit work.
- Oversee the management of subordinate staff members in the finance area.
- Develop and implement training plans for subordinate staff members in the finance area.
- Ensure regular reviews of procurement and stock control.
- Oversee physical control of assets.
- Review periodic reports with the Executive Director with regard to inventory control, budget reporting, payroll information and cash flow.
- Perform other duties as required to further the mission of CURE International.
