The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya which is an agency of The Aga Khan Development Network.
The Hospital is part of a network of health facilities in East Africa, which includes clinics, general hospitals, and the Aga Khan University .Hospital in Nairobi. It provides medical care to the population of Western Kenya and works with leading clinicians in the country in the management of complex medical conditions.
The Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu has affirmed its quality practices by achieving ISO 9001:2000 accreditation since 2004, and is moving towards higher standards of quality and clinical excellence.
The hospital invites qualified candidates to be considered for the following position:
Chief Nursing Officer
The incumbent will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the Hospital for a wide variety of key issues relating to operations of the Nurses Departments.
As a senior Member of the Management and a lead person of the Nursing Executive committee, the incumbent will be involved in strategic decision making in the institution's overall organizational development. He/She will have oversight over clinical quality in collaboration with the Medical Director.
The job purpose mainly is to ensure that there is a cohesive approach to improving Nursing standard, using appropriate monitoring indicators and establishing the infrastructure for management of nursing care.
The candidate will therefore demonstrate:
- A drive and passion for improving Nursing standards and building capacity within nursing profession.
- Multi- professional approach to patient management and care
- High standard of personal integrity.
- Strong leadership qualities including playing a role of an effective team member.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Candidates should have Msc Nursing qualifications with current extensive managerial and leadership roles at a senior level as well as clinical nursing experience of at least 5 years.
