The Tanzania Investment Bank (TIB) administers the ioan funds to the Sumbawanga Agricultural and Animal Food Industries Ltd (SMFI), as an agent of the Bank of Tanzania (BOT). As part of the administration of the structured financing facility to SAAFI, TIB is facilitating the recruitment of the senior management staff for SAAFI.
SAAFI is implementing an integrated project in Sumbawanga, Rukwa Region, in the South West of Tanzania, about 1,200 km from Dar es Salaam. The project is covering a beef cattle farm, an abattoir and meat processing plant. The company has installed a modem plant with latest technology and machinery imported from the Netherlands. The SAAFI total project cost is about US$ 12.0 million.
SAAFI is now looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions: Marketing Manager, Finance Manager, Ranch Manager and Administrative Officer.
These positions are based in Sumbawanga, Rukwa Region, Tanzania.
Position: Marketing Manager
Job summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for promoting and marketing SAAFI products. He wilt be responsible for the day to day commercial activities-selling of SAAFI products with a view of maximizing income for the company. He maintains close liaison with agents or other key outlets of SAAFI products. He will also be responsible for branding the company by way of producing promotional materials, as well as undertaking the market surveys or research to establish market trends.
Qualifications and required skills/competences
A degree in Marketing or Business Administration (majoring in marketing) or relevant disciplines. A post graduate qualification in any one of those fields will be an added advantage. A minimum of five years work experience in managing and/or marketing beef related products or fast moving products, of which at least three years be in senior position in a reputable organization.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership and team work abilities, excellent analytical skills, ability to maintain customer focus while handling multiple priorities, ability to make strategic decisions and delegation, and problem identification and solving skills. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French will be an added advantage. Hands on experience with IT business applications are essential.
Position: Finance Manager
Job summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for all financial and accounting operations of the company, by way of keeping and maintaining proper books of accounts and ensuring timely preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and/or financial performance reports.
The Finance Manager will provide guidance and coordinate stock taking of assets and stocks to establish their existence and values for accounting and other purposes. Will also be responsible for the planning functions, as well as the coordination of preparing and implementation of company budgets
Qualifications and required skills/competences;
A degree in BA Finance, Commence or Business Administration or equivalent plus Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACA or ACCA or equivalent qualifications. A minimum of five years of working experience in accounting and finance of which at least three years be in senior position in a reputable organization.

Position: Ranch Manager
Job summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Ranch Manager will be responsible for planning the grazing land and ensuring that there is adequate provision of food supplies for the animals. He will also be responsible for the day to day management of the ranch, keeps record of animate and takes appropriate action as necessary. (The ranch has an area of 7,400 ha of land, with over 8,000 herds of cattle).
Qualifications and required skills/competences
A degree in Ranch Management or Animal Science or General Agriculture (majoring in animal science) or an equivalent qualifications plus at least two years of relevant working experience. OR a Diploma holder in Ranch Management plus at least five years experience of running a beef ranch at senior position in a reputable ranch company.
A post graduate degree or diploma in agricultural economics will be an added advantage. Managerial and teamwork abilities including hands on IT business applications are essential.
Position: Administrative Officer
Qualifications and required skills/competences
A degree in Public Administration, Business Administration (majoring in Human Resource Management), Social Sciences, or equivalent. A minimum of five years of working experience in labour or industrial relations and of which at least three years be in senior position in a reputable company. Hands on experience with IT business applications are essential.
