Kenya Tourist Board Jobs and Careers

Kenya Tourist Board is a State Corporation whose mandate is to market Kenya as a preferred tourist destination both locally and internationally.

We seek to fill the following positions which require qualified and dedicated Kenyans. The positions call for high-level maturity and ability to effectively interact and operate at Board level.

Procurement Manager - One (1) Post

Purpose: To spearhead the development and implementation of procurement policies, strategies and systems to ensure value for money in all procurement processes within the Board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Board's procurement policies and systems to ensure value for money.
  • Co-ordinate the development of the Board's Annual Procurement and Disposal plans in line with the procurement and Disposal Act 2005, and its regulations.
  • Ensure the Board's procurement and disposals are conducted in accordance with the Law.
  • Assist departmental Heads to prepare departmental procurement plans.
  • Develop and implement a policy on promoting SMEs to participate in Board's procurement activities in line with the Act 2005.
  • To be the secretary of KTB's Tender Committee.
  • Advice the Board on all procurement and disposal issues.
  • Ensure maximum use of the Board's ICT capacity in procurement.
  • To mentor procurement staff.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Be a holder of Bachelor's Degree in Procurement or Supply & Chain management or related Social Sciences plus professional qualification in Procurement. A Masters in Procurement is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of computerized procurement systems and of the Procurement Disposal Act 2005
  • A strategic and analytical thinker and planner
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent team leader willing to share knowledge with others for the benefit of Kenya Tourist Board
  • Member of a recognized professional procurement and/or supply management body
  • Possess 5-8 years experience in a busy procurement environment which 3 years should be at senior management level
  • Age: 30 -45 years
Relationship with other Jobs
  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Works closely with all Heads of Department and Senior Managers
Assistant Procurement Manager - One (1) Post

Purpose: To implement KTB's Procurement Policy and ensure timely delivery of goods, services and works to the Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Board's Annual Procurement Plans.
  • Work with departmental Heads and Senior Managers to develop departmental procurement plans.
  • Ensure procurement user departments adhere to plans and are in line with Budgets.
  • Initiate and facilitate procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of goods, works and services.
  • Ensure all procurement and disposals are conducted fairly, transparently and in accordance within the existing Law.
  • Work with the Procurement Manager to maximize the use of the Board's ICT infrastructure in procurement for maximum benefits to the Board.
  • Prepare LPO's/LSO and manage contracts.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Be a holder of Bachelor's Degree in Procurement or Supply & Chain management or related Social Sciences plus professional qualification in Procurement.
  • Knowledge of computerized procurement systems and of the Procurement and Disposal Act 2005
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills Member of a recognized professional procurement and/or supply management body Possess 5 years experience in a busy organization
  • Age: 30 -40 years
Relationship with other Jobs
  • Reports to the Procurement Manager
