Community Liaison Officer - our client, a manufacturing concern based in Kenya, is looking for a Community Liaison / CSR Officer to contribute to the welfare and improved living standard of the employees and the surrounding local communities.
The overall goal of this position is to provide strategic planning, execution, monitoring and follow up of community liaison and corporate social responsibility programmes designed to address basic needs of the communities. The overall objective of the project is to promote socio-economic development in the area.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will:
- Be responsible for working with various parties to plan, implement and monitor community liaison / CSR programs as per the organisation’s requirements.
- Prepare detail activity budget in co-ordination with concerned parties.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tools of on going and up-coming projects.
- Conduct case study/impact study of the community development/CSR initiatives; properly document the same and disseminate to concerned parties.
- Lead the process of developing new projects and come up with terms of reference.
- Work with partner organizations in areas of advocacy, fund raising, reporting and documentation, program development and co-ordination and liaison.
- Ensure participation and coordination of all concerned stakeholders including municipal council and government institutions as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Required Skills and Experience:
- A university graduate in Social Sciences or other relevant field.
- Good knowledge of humanitarian / CSR environment (NGO, UN, Donors, Foundations) with at least four years work experience in program management with substantial community liaison/ interaction skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; a high level of curiosity and intuition; a strong sense of fairness, objectivity and good judgment.
- A confident public speaker, seasoned in report writing and presentation;
- Fluent written and spoken English and Kiswahili;
- A sense of team spirit, adaptability and dynamism.
Our client is based in rural Kenya and the nature of the job will require the Community Liaison Officer to live and work in the area.
