Internal Auditor Job Vacancy: World Vision

World Vision Kenya is a leading non-governmental Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy organization with projects in most parts of Kenya. We wish to urgently recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven person to fill the following position within our organization.

Internal Auditor

Purpose of the position:

To assists the Audit Manager in review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds were given.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of organizational operations using professional audit standards and practices
  • Prepares reports of audit results and recommendations to management.
  • Conducts special reviews/investigations as directed.
  • Conducts compliance reviews of organization records to ensure compliance with Government statutory requirements in areas including but not limited to taxation laws, employment law and any other applicable local requirements.
  • Maintains Continuing Education (“CPE”) as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience.

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • University Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business or related field. A graduate degree in Accounting or Management is preferred.
  • Should have professional qualifications such as CPA (K), ACCA or its equivalent
  • Proficiency in Computer applications (Excel, Sun systems, Word, Powerpoint etc).
  • Two years of relevant working experience.
  • Good communication, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must be able to travel extensively within the country and internationally up to 50% of the time
  • Must be able to work independently in remote areas
  • Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.
