Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a Ugandan NGO that uses radio, print and face-to-face communication to help adolescents make safer and healthier choices.
In 2009 STF will produce 8 million Straight Talk and Young Talk newspapers and broadcast 3500 radio shows.
It has over 60 full-time staff and a yearly budget of $2.5 million.

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
SUPERVISES: Directors of Programs, Print, Radio, Face-to-Face, Finance and HR & Administration.
ROLE: To provide the vision and leadership to build STF as a world best practice in communication for social change, HIV prevention, and adolescent health.
DUTIES
- Keep abreast of international and Ugandan policies and research on communication for social change, RH and trends of HIV infection in youth.
- Lead STF in developing replicable models that are cost-efficient and evidence-based.
- Encourage a culture of personal growth and performance so that STF's work gives value for donor money and provides maximum good to beneficiaries.
- Keep STF focused on reaching the most vulnerable adolescents, such as married girls and adolescents living with HIV.
- Be alert for new trends in the HIV epidemic and shift STF direction as necessary.
- Review and evaluate STF activities and act on findings. Ensure documentation of STF work and disseminate findings to Board, Employment opportunity
- Maintain excellent relations with existing donors and grow the donor base for STF; support proposal writing and acquisition of new funds.
- Oversee prudent and ethical use of STF resources .
- Ensure that STF meets its obligations to donors, clients, beneficiaries.
- Represent STF to the media and in national and international fora, travelling within and outside Uganda.
Personality
- Flexible, creative, innovative, organized, positive, able to lead and work under pressure.
- Conceptual thinker. Good speaker, excellent writer.
- Passionate about media, young people, families, RH, gender, sexuality, education.
- Able to turn ideas into concrete reality
- Undergraduate degree in social science, journalism, health. Masters degree an advantage.
- At least 10 years experience in journalism, behaviour change interventions, youth programmes. Knowledge of best practices and government policies.
- At least 40 years of age
