FARM-Africa is an international NGO committed to improving the lives of marginal farmers & herders through innovative approaches to natural resource management. We are seeking to fill the following position in our Regional Office in Nairobi.

Regional Fundraising Officer (REF: FUN)

Purpose:

To support the work of FARM-Africa's East African regional programmes by developing and maintaining good relationships with existing donors, and by prospecting and securing funding from regional and, where appropriate, international donors.

Key responsibilities:

1. To edit new project concept notes and proposals.
2. To submit concept notes and proposals to donors, ensuring that deadlines are met.
3. To keep up to date with national and regional donor policies, application and reporting procedures.
4. To identify and actively follow up potential funding opportunities with local donor representatives.
5. To ensure that FARM-Africa is represented in relevant donor and NGO networks.

Desirable competencies

• Bachelors degree in a relevant subject Experience of working with donor databases

Essential competencies

• Diploma in a relevant subject
• Knowledge of donor environment & NGO sector in East Africa
• Track record of securing project funding from donors
• Experience of coordinating teams to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Highly numerate and good analytical ability
• Qualitative research

Terms of appointment

• Gross basic salary of KES 131,910 per month;
• Housing allowance calculated at 25 percent of basic salary;
• Employers pension contribution calculated at 10% of basic salary (employee also contributes 10%);
• Medical insurance with Resolution Health for yourself, your spouse and up to 3 dependent children aged under 18 years (cover limits KES 5 million in-patient and KES 50,000 out-patient per person);
• NSSF contributions.
