Pre Sales Consultant - East Africa Region

To Represent an ICT Company based in South Africa

THE ROLE

Overview

Our client requires an experienced pre sales consultant with an aptitude for mastering new technologies.

You will be required to identify, prospect, develop and close new relationships with target audiences in the East African Region, including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

You will initiate, maintain and mature effective and productive sales relationships.

You will provide expert configuration and release management skills.

You will have excellent time management skills as you will have to work on a Virtual office basis out of Kenya.

You will report to the National Sales Manager with a dotted line to the Chief Technical Officer and Channel Development Manager for Africa.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

Close new relationships and develop new business

  • Key focus on generating new business and introducing new clients to Networks Unlimited.
  • Develop and implement account plans per reseller, and sale executive.
  • Conduct cold canvassing to determine the possibility of new clients.
  • Meet client representatives at all levels (up to board level), relevant to the product offering and provide points of contact, sales and marketing literature, training and presentations on an ongoing basis.
  • Conduct sales presentations with the client including all relevant aspects required to conclude the sale.

Configuration and release management
  • Understand the technical value proposition
  • Put project plans and network diagrams together, ensuring that potential pitfall areas are addressed and dealt with
  • Accompany the reseller to customer meetings and field technical queries
  • Manage Proof of Concept projects

SKILLS

Technical
  • Holds “Trusted Advisor” status in the networking world
  • Has extensive networking/data-centre enterprise infrastructure technical design knowledge (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN’s, packet analysis).
  • A strong practical working knowledge of Transport protocols (TCP/IP)
  • Solid experience on Windows Server, SQL, Exchange
  • Strong security aptitude and focus

QUALIFICATIONS

BSc or BA in a technical discipline is preferred.
CCNA a significant advantage.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years pre sales consulting experience.
  • Experience in security an advantage
  • Track record of consistently exceeding individual and team goals.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of networking principles.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
