The CRADLE is seeking for a qualified and experienced person for the following positions:
A: Project Accountant
The Position
Reports to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities
The suitable candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Providing effective and efficient hands on support to the project on financial management.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports.
- Monitoring and managing expenditures and budgets for the project.
- Maintaining high standards of accounting and financial controls.
- Coordinating the projects internal and external audits and implementing audit recommendations.
- Preparing quarterly financial returns for the project.
- Preparing monthly donor expenditure monitoring accounts.
- Preparing bank reconciliation and trail balances on a monthly basis.
- Be a qualified accountant or have a degree in a relevant field with accounting qualification up to CPAII
- Minimum of three years experience in accounts, with at least two years in a reputable NGO with thorough knowledge of project management cycle.
- High level of accuracy and attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and a team player.
- Knowledge of EU financial reporting is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Sage Pastel accounting software.
The Position
Reports to the Program Manager, Policy and Advocacy.
Responsibilities
The suitable candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Undertake awareness creation on child trafficking to the public and among civil society organisations.
- Undertake awareness creation to and enhance capacity of policy makers and legal institutions to deal with child trafficking.
- Lobby for a comprehensive legal framework on child trafficking in Kenya.
- Coordinate The CRADLE'S response to cases of child trafficking.
- Lobby for an African Charter on Counter Trafficking in persons.
- Develop Information, Education and Coordination material for awareness creation, lobbying and advocacy.
- Prepare quarterly and annual narrative project implementation reports.
- Coordinate the entire project and support the programme officers to achieve the project objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or other related field from a recognised University with at least 3 years experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of child rights.
- Proven knowledge of human trafficking and in particular child trafficking.
- Proven technical expertise in project management.
- Proven knowledge in budgeting and reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to details.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess good lobbying skills.
- Must demonstrate professionalism and flexibility.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate.
- Availability to travel.
- Reporting to the programme manager legal aid
