SENIOR ERP DEVELOPER
REF:IT-SERP-NOV08
Reporting to the Principal ERP Developer, the holder of the position will be part of the team charged with the responsibility for developing and 3rd line support of Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning and bespoke Oracle interfaces and software components. Work with other departments to identify requirements and develop solutions. Configure and/or customize Oracle ERP applications to meet business requirements using various database and software tools. Assist in presentations of system functionality to new users and departments. Enhance and create user and system documentation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing, Troubleshooting and 3rd Line support – Create test plans, test data sets and perform automated testing to ensure all components of the developed systems work as per the specifications. Work directly with the IT support personnel and teams to resolve issues identified and escalated during daily operations. Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents. Formalize test plans and implements troubleshooting procedures.
- System Analysis – Conduct business user requirements analysis and specifications. Specify computer system requirements for the solution of complex business problems and formulate designs for their solutions. Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure the business application systems can be effectively developed and implemented. Interact with clients to gather and refine requirements.
- Software Design & programming – Design & development of the front-end tiers, middle tiers and/or back-end database tiers for business applications. Capturing of business applications information needs and mapping of the same to the software and database components. Perform data modeling to analyze and specify data structures within an application system. Support new and existing application development by creating modifications and enhancements for Oracle ERP applications and perform high level system design.
- Oracle ERP - Review and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality. Ensure integration of designs across development team. Design build & test ERP components e.g. interface, conversion and report programs. Appropriately monitor interfaces to Oracle ERP modules and development tools. Read and interpret technical manuals for the Oracle ERP system. Assist in creating and updating Oracle TAR’s. Ensure the effectiveness of overall systems performance.
Minimum Requirements
- The candidate will hold a University degree in computer science or any other degree with a bias towards IT related disciplines from a reputable institution.
- Posses Oracle E-business suite certification
- Must possess at least 3 years hands on experience with Microsoft development tools e.g. Java, VB, FoxPro, Visual FoxPro.
- Must posses 3 years hands on experience with low level programming C++ and C.
- Must posses 3 years hands on experience with RDMS preferably MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and Informix.
- Must posses 3 years hands on experience in Oracle ERP applications development, which includes system customization and report designs.
- Experience in processes and procedures management.
- Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Pay attention to details.
- Have analytical skills and excellent leadership skills.
